The Isle of Man Ship Registry: Simplification of Procedures
The Isle of Man Ship Registry has announced the introduction of a number of changes to make the ship registration process simpler and therefore easier for clients.
- The Registry can waive the requirement for a pre-register survey, for vessels less than 10 years old.
- The maximum age limit of vessels on entry to the Registry has been increased from 15 to 20 years.
- Previously excluded types of vessel, such as passenger vessels can now be registered.
- The list of accepted countries for the Registry has been extended to include: Australia, Bahamas, Canada, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Liberia, Marshall Islands, New Zealand, Pakistan, Panama, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, UAE and USA.
