Tokyo law firm member Atsumi & Partners continues to expand
Multi-award-winning Tokyo law firm Atsumi & Partners (the only Tokyo based law firm with foreign Partners) continues the strategic expansion of both its domestic and foreign practices with the lateral hire of senior lawyers from the Tokyo offices of US firms Orrick and Skadden Arps.

The three new lawyers joining Atsumi & Patners are:
TAKAHIRO TSUMAGARI – Of Counsel
Mr. Tsumagari joined Atsumi & Partners from the Tokyo office of Skadden Arps, having previously worked in their Los Angeles office; his practice areas encompass real estate acquisition and financing, M&A and M&A finance, and commercial transactions. He is fluent in Japanese (native) and English.
YOSHIKO NAKAYAMA – Of Counsel
Ms. Nakayama joined A&P after 9 years with the Tokyo office of Skadden Arps and 9 years with Anderson Mori (now Anderson Mori & Tomotsune); she specialises in employment, cross-border M&A, financial regulation and commercial transactions. She is also a visiting professor at a Japanese law school. She is fluent in Japanese (native) and English.
RUSSELL KAWAHARA – Of Counsel
Mr. Kawahara joined A&P from the Tokyo office of Orrick and brings 28 years experience in Japan and the US in the areas of real estate, finance and general corporate law. He has spent the last 9 years in Tokyo representing foreign and Japanese clients in the foreign and commercial aspects of real estate transactions. He is fluent in English (native) and Japanese.
