Ellisons Solicitors rounds off record-breaking year with 2018 Legal 500 recommendation
Legal 500 has once again recommended UK law member Ellisons Solicitors in its annual listing, citing nine notable practice areas, two leading individuals and six next generation lawyers.
Ellisons Solicitors has once again been recommended in the 2018 Legal 500. In total, nine practice areas were recommended in the 2018 edition, with two Partners noted as leading individuals, and five Partners and one Associate Solicitor recognised as next generation lawyers.
The firm received notable mentions within the following practice areas: Employment, Personal Injury, Corporate and Commercial, Commercial Litigation, Insolvency and Corporate Recovery, Personal Injury: Defendant, Family, Personal tax, trusts and probate, and Commercial property.
“It has been an astonishing year for the firm, and it is a great testament to the team across the region to have received such notable recommendations this year. It reflects the team’s hard work and the fact that they ensure the needs of their clients are always put first. Whilst recognition from Legal Directories such as the Legal 500 is positive, it is the feedback from our clients, staff and contacts which really matters to us.
We have plans to continue with this growth, and I look forward to working with our clients, both new and existing, as we continue to cement our position as a leading adviser in the Eastern Region and beyond...”
The two Partners noted as leading individuals are both located in the Ellisons Ipswich office in Wherstead Park. Julian Outen, a highly respected lead Partner in the Employment team, is a qualified mediator and has many years’ experience in TUPE matters resulting from outsourcing agreements and business acquisitions and mergers, and in complex litigation including boardroom disputes.
The firm currently acts for a large client base in East Anglia and elsewhere in the UK, as well as handling cross-border matters for international clients. A sign of the growing value and complexity of the work coming into the practice was Julian’s work for an international data analytics company. It involved a £50m corporate transaction that required the intra-group transfer of employees and the novation of employment contracts.
Robert Gair, Fellow of APIL, has also been noted as leading individual due to his stellar reputation for complex and high-value personal injury cases. With almost 30 years’ experience, Robert undertakes all manner of PI cases, and his many areas of specialism include claims arising from fatal accidents, acquired brain injury, industrial disease, road traffic accidents and workplace accidents.
Partners and Solicitors named as Next Generation Lawyers are:
- Paul Forsyth, Partner, Corporate and Commercial
- Ceri Rogers, Associate Solicitor, Commercial Litigation
- Scott Porter, Partner, Commercial Litigation, Insolvency and Corporate Recovery
- Lisa Dawson, Partner, Family
- Philip Roberts, Partner, Commercial property
- Gina Westbrook, Partner, Personal tax, trusts and probate.
The results have been published towards the end of an already record-breaking year for the firm which has promoted ten lawyers and solicitors to Partner and Associate. Ellisons was also extremely pleased to open a new office in Chelmsford, bringing the total number of offices to six. The Family team in Colchester moved to new premises as part of the firm’s expansion plans, and recruitment has been high on the agenda, with growing teams across all practice areas.
