Local coffee business raises £3 million from private equity investors with help of Smith Cooper
Dan Bowtell, partner at Midlands accounting member Smith Cooper, led the deal which enables 200 Degrees to take their business to the next level.
Specialist coffee business, 200 Degrees, which is based in Nottingham, has received £3 million of funding from private equity investor Foresight Group. The deal was advised on by Smith Cooper.
200 Degrees was founded in 2012, starting life as a garage enterprise, but has gone from strength to strength - the company now has six coffee shops across the UK and supplies hundreds of wholesale customers. 200 Degrees also offers a barista school and a subscription scheme, and has plans to open more coffee shops across the UK.
Private equity investment
Foresight Group provided the investment into the business. Foresight is a leading independent infrastructure and private equity investment manager whose portfolio of fund management activities extends internationally.

Throughout the transaction, Smith Cooper provided assistance to 200 degrees in the negotiations with Foresight Group, and provided structural and financial advice to the shareholders.
